Program Information

The Region of Waterloo EMS Medical Venturer and Medical Rover program is a specialized Scouting program with a primary vocational focus on Paramedic or other Health Care professions. The Medical Venturer and Medical Rover program provides youth and young adults with first aid & CPR training as well as orientation in EMS procedures.

This program is an excellent opportunity for youth looking for a career as a paramedic, or any other medical career, or just a specialized skill set and experience that looks good on a resume.

Our members meet every two weeks and participate in a wide variety of Scouting and first aid related activities frequently offering service to the community.   During our regular meetings we cover the business of running the program, and conducting scenarios to ensure our members always have a solid foundation of First Aid experience.  Offering first-aid at community and Scouting events often involves ensuring we are visible and available when required.

An added benefit:   The hours spent providing first aid services can be applied towards the volunteer hours required for a high school diploma!!
